I am a Premium Kit Club Member with both Scrap~tures  and with ScrapMuch?
If you haven't checked them out, you should.

This is one of the kits I received back in September 2013 from Scrap~tures

Belonging to two clubs is great and its been a year + and I have only received two similar kits
but they were still different.

4 & 1/2

Hi there....

I am a member of  a couple of premium monthly kit clubs.
One with ScrapMuch? (you should them check out)  The BEST part is there is no guess work and its "all-in-one bag/box" (easy to scrap away from my scrappy space).  All the paper and embellishments work together and match - you just have to create.
On March 29th it's my son's half BIRTHday.
This is from January's kit club:

4 & 1/2
Supplies:  Simple Stories; "Daily Grind" and decorative brads, Craft paper, silhouette cut files, faux stitching, acrylic paint dabber with stencil, tiny attacher, decorative pins, floss, paper clip, 7 gypsies word stickers.

This layout is fun and busy, with only cut pieces of cardstock/printed paper.
He was so excited when Bruce shared half his cake for his half BIRTHday and to boot....
CHOCOLATE CAKE!!! Yum!

You Rock! 2 Pillow Cases

Hi There!

Back in October 2013, I had some personal sewing lessons 101.
I needed to learn how sew and use a sewing machine.
I had one but didn't know how to even thread it?! Ha!
My dear friend Ronna offered to teach me - she's a PRO and a quilter!!
She presented me with a BERNINA (can YOU believe it - for a BEGINNER) and lessons 101.
We were busy!
She had me start by sewing 2x4 pieces of fabric together, to make a square of 4x4. After 36 squares, I than stitched those 4x4 squares into a row of 6 alternating squares.  Then the 6 rows were attached to make a square.  Three hours later - yes my very first project was a doll quilt!!!
As we were sewing away, my son, Joaquin noticed a little monkey on ONE of the strips of fabric and asked if we were making a blanket for Mama Monkey (his lil'stuffy)
One look at Ronna - and... I guess I was?!
So that's right, I went from sewing lessons -  to making  my very FIRST doll and/or Mama Monkey quilt!!
Here it is:
Quilt

Who doesn't need a pillow to match - yep!  We made a mini-pillow and mini-pillow case (with french seams) to match!!

Quilt + pillow
Just darling aren't they.  What a first 101 lesson!!  High goals = beautiful work. ( If I do say so myself! )
Ronna is just too sweet for words.
My lessons consisted of stitching, ironing (which I didn't do either!), stitch in the ditch and quilting (but that was done on her quilting machine)
Now on to the Pillow Cases
One of my nephews, Dylan, turned 10 on the 18th of March.  It was fitting that we showed him some fine work and let him know "You Rock" Dill Pickle (his nick name)
You ROCK! Pillow Case x2
and look at those French Seams...
French Seams
He WILL be "Rockin'out" in his dreams - he knows, he rocks! *wink wink

Ok - back to scrapbooking!  please check back again soon.

African Lion Safari

Hi There!

It's the second day of Spring, certainly doesn't feel like it with all the snow that accumulated on top of the freezing rain and -6 out there this morning?!

I thought I would share a fun layout I did of our trip to African Lion Safari, back in the summer of 2012.  This picture sat in my stash of picture piles, until I came across the perfect accessories last week.
Our cousins from Nova Scotia were here to visit and we hung out havin' some crazy safari fun.  This layout I didn't use a sketch, I just went with it...

Sometimes, while creating, it's all about having the perfect paper.  This patterned paper resembled the giraffe motif, and  I just kept with the fun of the day!!

African Lion Safari
Supplies:  jillibean soup; Egg Drop Soup, American Crafters Specialty paper, cardstock, craft paper, white texture effect, TCW Balzer Designs stencil (new), jillibean soup corrugated shapes,  floss, EK animal print buttons, twine, brads, cuttlebug and pop dots.
Several types of texture on this layout and it kept with the animal theme.

We all had a lot of FUN on this hot summer day!  Here's to sunny warm days ahead of us...fingers crossed it's SOON!

Thank you for stopping by and check back tomorrow!

One of my FAV's!

Hi there!

Today, I would like to share one of my favorite layouts.
It was FUN and it wasn't my son Joaquin!?? Ha!
The picture was taken at a friends New Years Eve house party, back in 2010. But I finally got around to scrapping it. These girls are so FUN and I was being silly (who me?! I can be!! LoL)

I MUStache you a Question

Supplies:  craft paper, Fancy Pants; Swagger Collection, card stock, hand edge punch, Mister. Huey's mist, acrylic paint, ink + stencil, wooden embellishments, button, Close to my Heart button letters, floss, EK Mustache embellies.
I experimented with a few new techniques and wanted to try out my new stencil.  I used red acrylic paint to edge my craft paper and my photo to match, it really helps a picture pop off your page.

Creative Embellishments March Challenge

Hi there!

Today was a lot of "FIRSTS" for me...I created and used a sketch by Creative Embellishments and used a few NEW fun techniques.
When I saw this challenge by Creative Embellishments, I was intrigued immediately.
I was inspired by the pastel colours flowing in the background and the sketch was perfect for some pictures I had in my stash.
Creative Embellishments uses a picture and a sketch to inspire you:
ce march mood board
CE March Inspiration Picture

ce march sketch
March CE Sketch

and here is my take on the picture/sketch:
Crazy Hair Day
To create the background I used my Tim Holtz water brush (first time) I was aiming for a tie-dye affect (to coordinate his shirt)  Some time ago, I watched a tutorial using coffee filters, I had to try this.
Using a coffee filter and the same water colour, I made my own coordinating embellishments.
Coffee filter
The coffee filter also made some picture corners to coordinate, I kept the chenille twists from my sons hair and created an abstract butterfly, I used: candy dots, yellow floss, buttons (one button I created an abstract butterfly using wire to pop the slinky my son is playing with), acrylic paint, white texture effect, silhouette (arrow with faux sewing and resembles a J for Joaquin).
I love how this airy layout flowed together, it was so inspiring from a picture/sketch take.  This was fun!! You should play along.
