My Mommy's Day - Let's Get Sketchy May week 4

Hi there

The 4th sketch of May is up at
LGS - week 4
I have been waiting for this sketch:
My Mommy's Day
I had these pictures from Mommy's Day 2013
My boys "delivered me" breakfast in bed  *wink
My son, was SO PROUD he made his own gift wrap
a hand drawn family portrait - so sweet! It wrapped a beautiful
Thumb print butterfly necklace,
made me a card,
some handmade flowers and picked my daffodils - hehe!

My poem reads:
"Kindergardeners have a special way
of growing bigger every day
but this little fingerprint so much bigger than a speck
will remind  you of this year when placed around your neck
Happy Mother's Day "

I chose this rub-on
"There is no way to be a perfect mother, and a million ways to be a good one."
[ guess I'm doing ok ]

I love how busy MME patterned paper is (plus its my FAV colour)
I love all things PINK!!
I used a little GESSO, in swirls with splatters of Mister Huey's mist
everywhere.
Fancy Pants filter paper doilies, a Silhouette cut file embellished with MME buttons
some bling, my son wrote the date for me
*note his 2's and 3's are still backwards (I love adding his personal touches) and a double bow in hemp twine, hug my photos.

I wanted to a subtle, soft background, to add /build up these photos but wanted them
to pop off my page.
This layout is about ME, how proud I am feeling and sharing the love
from MY Bestie - my boys spoil me
#luckiestmommy
I LOVE being a MOMMY !!
Hands down.... BEST JOB EVER!!!

What a great sketch - hop on over and give it a try

TONKA BOYS - Boys Rule

Hi There

Have YOU seen the new
Sketch Challenge
at
by the very talented Laura Whitaker?
May Sketch Challenge
Here is my take:
Tonka Boys
This was just too much fun to create!!
Pebbles had this busy vehicle patterned paper
- just PERFECT for my photo!
I layered with Bo Bunny.

The title ( Tonka BOYS) was fitting for my son and his little friend.
Foam Thickers (altered) with Fancy Pants word stickers
Every time, we would go to the mall,
he had to bring a loonie for a ride.

I created a road behind the layers and added one little car
and "BEEP!" sticker

I embellished with Pebbles "HONK!" sticker
and a cut dump truck
( my friend Joey made this for me last June
- I finally used it! )
to add dimension I used these funky buttons,
tinfoil for the window, and
I splatter Mister Huey's Mist

I love it when a layout just falls into place with a great sketch

If you haven't played along over at
- you SHOULD - there is still time

Cafe Muskoka - ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday DT Team B REVEAL

Hi there

It's REVEAL DAY
over at
Sketch-y Friday
hop on over
Our very talented ScrapMuch? DESIGN TEAM B is up

I would like to share my REVEAL
Cafe Muskoka
My hubby and I, were FINALLY able to sneak an afternoon java together,
in our "backyard cafe" on May 8th
(it's been too COLD and snowing /raining until than)
I choose Basic Grey, as the patterned paper almost matched
our mugs - hehe!
I followed the sketch but tweaked it, just a little
I added some coffee stains
 - fitting right?!
I dipped the bottom of my mug into some thick (undrinkable) instant coffee
and lifted with a flick, three times - I love the effect
(smells good too!)
scratch N' sniff scrapbooking - HA!
I strung white natural hemp with spoons hanging
(sometimes I've got great ideas)
the spoons are doubled with a foam dot, to add dimension

I made this DIY embellishment
I made a double bow, with white hemp behind my sticker and rubbed some coffee
(remember it was THICK)
and it resembles a butterfly - neato!!

I just had to show you a close up of my steamy
coffee mugs - so HOTT!
These are a silhouette cut file and all separate
= 30 pieces of hot STEAM!!
I had to - great effect

Our very talented Laura Whitaker, provided us with this fantastic sketch:
ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday
You can play along too!
Remember to link up before MAY 29th,  for your chance to WIN !!

I can't wait to see your take on this sketch

Our Dantie - LGS week#3 + LESSology #36 + Stuck on U Sketches May 19 Stripes

Hi there
I got really creative and combine 3 GREAT Challenges
Let's Get Sketchy week #3 Sketch
LGS week #3
This GREAT sketch combined with
LESSology  Challenge #36
and a 3rd Challenge over at

here is my take:
our Dantie
All my nieces and nephews ( I have 3 of each) call me Dantie
 - short and backwards for Auntie Danielle
so SWEET!!! I LOVE it!

It's all about the Fancy Pants and cork, this round.
I had this window printed trans, for some time,
when I saw the challenge over at
I KNEW what I wanted to do !
I had this picture of my Nieces and my new nephew (who is now 15)
and I always wanted to create the illusion that YOU were looking
in at us, through the window, watching us hangin'out on the
big comfy chair.
encourages you to up-cycle items (how fitting for a hoarder) HA!
I found this Monster tab (from an energy drink)
it's lime green with an "M" on it
I engraved a "y"
added a word brad
My insta love - COOL right?!

Now for
I used Vintage stripes and washi tape stripes

and stamped (KaiserCraft)
"BIG THINGS often have small beginnings"
and added the felt layered tag.

Although this layout looks simple
I was challenged!  I had to measure
and if you know me
THAT'S A CHALLENGE!!

Creative Embellishments May Challenge - u MAUVE me

Hi there!

Hope you have recovered from your long weekend
( a Canadian Holiday)
I was able to garden and scrap
= ONE LUCKY GAL !

I was inspired again over at
with an
Inspiration photo
When I saw this photo, I fell in love with the pink and purple flowers.  Wild and free and I hope that lasts forever.  Along with this sketch from Nicolle:
CE - May Sketch Challenge
So, I LOVE THIS SKETCH!
I have ALWAYS wanted to do a circle layout
and ta-da:
u MAUVE me
I had this photo of my husband and I, from our friends wedding
(almost 2 years ago)
This is one of my kits from Scrap~tures premium monthly kit club.
I received KaiserCraft Violet Crush Collection
and thought "I'll NEVER use it"
HA! This is now my 2nd layout using the entire collection.
I only added some mauve ink, Ice Stickles, fancy floss and black cardstock.
It is a loving picture of us, having adult fun
( definition: no child[ren])
the circles symbolizing everlasting, eternal love
I en-circled "LOVE never ends"

My title is a play on words BUT so fitting - Right?!
Love the DIY Embellishment flower flourish
accented with a butterfly
( he makes my heart flutter )

I am so happy with this layout
thank you Nicolle  for a GREAT sketch
If you haven't played along over at
you should - you still have time!

MME May Sketch + ScrapMuch? May Colour Challenge - Chicken Little

Hi there!!

For my first time, I played along with

They have a fun sketch up for May
MME May Sketch
I combined this sketch with
Great colours for May.  We need more of these colours outside
( My Spring bulbs are just starting to bloom )

Here is my take on the combined challenges:
Chicken Little
I loved the layered effect of the sketch but these fun photos
didn't need much.
The yellow mustard seed cardstock along with the patterned paper
(this patterned paper has little coloured dots: blue, green, yellow and red)
worked well for Chicken Little.
Of course some stitching with blue floss

I made the chicken wire ( DIY )
I love it! It turned out
( I really think you should BUY IT unless you have time and a lot of patience!!)
Chicken Little is a cut file from MME Lost & Found; Sunshine
with googly-eyes and a sweet bow-tie
MME Collectable decorative brads all in the colour challenge colours

Here are some cut file music notes with MME Collectable
Decorative Sticker "Too Cute"
I used citrus acrylic paint dabber to create a faint strip.

Wow!  the memories seeing my son so little
He dressed up everyday as someone or something
Chicken Little was by far the cutest

You should hop on over to
and
play along with their monthly challenges or combine them
