Hi there

TGIF
...and FRIDAY means
I feel a little sad now, posting this wishing it was warmer
- it IS Summer?! right?!!
Santa's Village Traditions
I created using Simple Stories (apparently I'm liking this line a LOT! lately)
I fussy cut the patterned paper
My title is October Afternoon Sticky Keys with pop dots, and metal charm word
Every year, we visit Santa's Summer Home
he lives at the 45th Parallel June -September
Santa's Village
Snowflake Brad Buddies (from my stash of 2+ years)
I also dabbled in the Gesso and sparkle texture effect for texture
and to mimic the glistening snow.
I love this cluster!
The wooden veneer snowflake + Bling, bakers twine, word stickers
and that straw talker.
My son LOVES Santa and always has.

Heat Wave FUN - Stuck?! Sketches + S4A + Paper Issues

Hi there

I would like to share my latest layout
with you
of my lil'guy sporting his SpongeBob Squarepants swim trunks
and the garden hose *giggle giggle
Heat Wave FUN
It was so hot, he could NOT wait for me to set up his sprinkler,
so let the FUN begin.
I am a fan of mixed alphas, cut files /stickers for a title
(and this one works)
I picked up this printed paper (unknown) a few years back
used my TH mask with yellow acrylic paint.
The sub title Fun in the Sun adds to
fun photos.
Of course I stitched, using a mix (yellow /white /blue) twine.
Look at this little dude - sweet right?!
I used Glossy Accents to detail and texture the
water sprays

I started with this great sketch from
Stuck?! July 15th
This sketch worked perfectly, with my printed paper.
Stuck?! Sketches paired up with
The Studio Challenge
Great colour palette for this layout.
I worked with the green, yellows and blue hues

I also played along with

Gettin' the Scoop on the Sweet Days of Summer

[ for my first time ]

and
July Challenge
using
just a bit of yellow!

If you haven't played along
YOU can!!
There is still time

Let's Get Sketchy July Week 3 REVEAL - RCMP

Hi there

Design Team A
is up at
LGS July week 3
A GREAT sketch by Bev Code and here is my take:
Royal Canadian Mounted Pretties
This is one of those PROUD moments... you're at a loss for the right words but oh SO PROUD!
My friend Dawn, graduated into the Royal Canadian Mounted Police
that's right... SHE did it!
(now these photos were taken 18-ish years ago)
[Dawnee correct me if I'm wrong]
A lil'machine stitching and a Silhouette cut file, white texture effect and acrylic paint
was the base of this layout

This sketch challenged me, a little but I had fun.
Although, I've always wanted to do something like this, I love ribbon on a layout.
(these pictures have waited long enough!!)
I did a play on words here...even "Pretties" can be Mounted Police
During the 2010 G8, one of the RCMP officers shared
a RIDE pin with me!
[ I layered Stampin'Up paper flowers, misted with Mr. Huey's ]
Happiness is... your friend wearing a Mountie Hat
( and it's legit!)
Perfect button..right?!

I love the out come of this layout and I hope Dawn does too!
Thank you for a great sketch Bev

Hop on over and see what
has to inspire YOU
and remember to Link up
I can't wait to see your take on this sketch
YOU could be the FAV  of the week!

DIY (UP-CYCLE) LEGO TABLE

HI there

I have been very crafty here at
Casa Ramirez
a lot of scrapbooking
(but you'll have to wait until
Reveal Day
before I can share them) *wink

Hubby and I, have been
busy going through my sons
toys and books
( the age appropriate sorting)
BOY oh BOY
they grow up FAST!

We had this little old table
20-ish years old
My sister had given us my nieces table - from when she was
little (in November she'll be 21)
My son is now BIG enough to eat at the breakfast nook
*she lowers head - and admits he's almost 6
But my little guy LOVES LEGO
LEGO Table
DIY LEGO Table
( I will be HONEST - it's kinda a selfish thought
if you have EVER STEPPED on a Lego piece
you'll completely understand)
Now, I /we are no fool(s) and understand
they may still be some Lego
on floor!!
But not all of it  - any more!!
LoL
*fingers /toes crossed
He has been sitting for hours playing /building/
creating
Lego Geek
Joaquin, designed the table top - he request half grass, half water
and half-in-half, for when friends were over
(great planning ahead)
He will sit for HOURS, from large to small...
Joaquin LOVES LEGO

This DIY home up-cycle is perfect!
[1 old table + 4 Lego mats + clear silicone]
It gives the table a new life
but most importantly one very happy little BOY!

ScrapMuch? Sketch-y Friday Reveal - Team B - Look at ThIS

HI there

It's Sketch-y Friday,
it's my Reveal Day over at

Laura Whitaker shared this awesome sketch
Sketch-y Friday
Here is my take:
Look at this
Yes,
YES I DO carry around a blank 12x12 blank cardstock....in case I get an autograph!!
Don't YOU???!!
Yep!  Pretty much as soon as Dara returned home to Huntsville
I had my little baggie ready,
just in case we had "that" opportunity. LoL
An AWESOME Sketch for an AWESOME moment!
Pretty simple layout with a lot of little details.  I created with cardstock and simple stories
HA!  Simple Story!! *wink

...Look at THIS...she's KINDA a BIG DEAL
Huntsville's very own Dara Howell
(I had to use googly-eyes to emphasize the title)
Remember this moment???
A PROUD Canadian moment
It is July, and how patriotic is this layout.
I used the circle banner to simulate
the Olympic rings.
Embellishing with my Canada button and gold floss
Dara signed my cardstock, so of course I had to work around
her autograph.
(you see I stitched each photo in place of matting)
This was such an amazing moment for my son.
He even had Dara sign his bat and helmet for T-Ball
...and followed it up with an invitation to watch him play!! Too cute

Hop on over to ScrapMuch? and see how Team B
will inspire YOU!
I can't wait to see your take on this sketch

Canada Day 2014 - Let's Get Sketchy July Week 1 - Design Team A REVEAL

Hi there

Design Team
A
is up at
JULY Week 1

Here is the sketch from Brenshevia:
LGS -  July Week 1
Here is my take:
Canada Day 2014

I am feeling very patriotic and planning this layout for sometime.
(Truth be told...I had pictures my mom mailed me (2010) from her
disposable camera...and put them in REALLY good place!!
After 38+ hours of searching - I'm determined!
NO such luck!!?)
So.... these pictures it is!! HA!

I had everything ready, the title, paper choice.
My July monthly premium kit club arrived and had this
TCW Life Bits Stencil
I just had to put to good use!!
favorite <3
I machine stitched, and used MS Sparkle Texture Effect
with a maple leaf cut file as my mask.
I added a wooden veneer heart and @
{@ Love being Canadian}
(before the texture effect dried and dry misted using my TH Spritzer
to create some texture) - I think would work well for a snow scene!!
I am still behind... but I know those pictures WILL turn up!
I really love how this layout turned out.

Hop on over and see the amazing
Team A Reveal
I can't wait to see your take on this sketch
and REMEMBER to LiNK UP

Whoopee Your 50! -2TC79 - Red, White and Blue with Stars

Hi there

I needed a silly, masculine
BIRTHday card
Again, I had to play along with

2TC79 ~ Red, White and Blue with Stars!

 THE CHALLENGE

Use the colors red, white and blue

THE TWIST

Also use stars on your creation
I know as a Canadian, we usually think the American flag...
but NOT me!
I thought whoopee cushion red!!
Whoopee
SNORT!! SNORT! Fun card right?!!

I started by using blue and green cardstock
and my new washi caution tape
I stitched in white (top and bottom straight stitch
but the sides I zig-zag stitch)
I titled Whoopee ( but spaced it so
you could also say "who pee??"
and of course the twist - red stars
{I love making 2 part cards}
(fitting that the flashing button has stars too)
get it
Whoopee your 50!
(not one person mentioned you're INSTEAD of your)
that was funny too!!

To complete this silly card
my new stamp
Yep, that finished up this card
and another great challenge
over at

Happy Canada Day - Eh!

Hi there

Today, marks a very
SPECIAL BIRTHday
Today...
Canada is
147
(since Confederation)

I am feeling very Patriotic
and wanted to share this layout
with you.
Canada Day 2013
I wanted to create a Canadian flag using my sons hand as the maple leaf.
We always spend the day together, as a family and
participate in all the festivities around town.
I split the title between the two pages,
creating 2 flags (of course I machine stitched)
I always need my LO to tell a story
but don't always journal - except for here in blog world.
A close-up of my sons hand print "maple leaf"
(and if you look real close we also sport his DIY Flag T-shirts
his footprint created the outer edge, with his hand print again as the
maple leaf.
I added a few rub-ons for fun

From tattoos to DIY cupcakes,
our FAVORITE part of the day is the end
...the fireworks!
This AWESOME photo was captured
with me sitting behind my son
it actually looks like he's touching them!!

We are getting ready to create
2014 memories
Wishing you all a fantastic day
Stay safe and keep cool
(she's a HOT one...again today)
